Want to be part of the excitement of a Marathon, but would prefer not to run the full 26.2 miles? You can! Find a few friends and form a Marathon relay team. Relay teams may have either 2 or 4 members, and may be all male, all female or mixed gender. The 4 legs of the relay will vary in distance, but each is approximately 6.5 miles. The La Crosse Marathon Relay will be held on Sunday May 6, 2012, as part of the Festival Foods La Crosse Fitness Festival.

Time
The Marathon Relay will start with the Marathon & Half Marathon near Pettibone Park. All races will start at 7:00AM sharp.

The Course

The Marathon Relay will begin near the entrance to Pettibone Park with the Marathon. The Marathon Relay will follow the Marathon course to the finish in Myrick Park close to the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse. The first relay exchange will take place near Green Island Ice Arena (at about 6.25 miles); the second exchange will take place near the intersection of 33rd Street & Levy Lane (at about 13.1 miles); the third exchange will take place near a parking lot on Townsend Street near East Ave (at about 19.2 miles). Each relay transition point will be identifiable by a banner and volunteers. Participants running the second, third or fourth legs of the Marathon Relay are responsible for their own transportation to and from the exchange points.

Registration opens at 12:01AM on Saturday, October 1, 2011.
